About the name
In networking, a fabric is the web of links and switches that connects many systems so they behave as one. A photon fabric does the same with light. PhotonFabric.si joins the two words into a clear name for optical networks inside and between data centers, on the short .si extension.
The name fits optical interconnect start-ups, companies building optical switching for AI clusters, and research groups working on chip-to-chip optical links. It describes an idea rather than a single product, so it can grow with a company from a first device into a wider platform.
