From AI to SI: Slovenia's .si After the "Super Intelligence" Order, and 15 .si Names

On 29 September 2026 the White House issued Executive Order 14434, "Inaugurating the Era of Super Intelligence". It tells US federal agencies to use "Super Intelligence" and "SI" in place of "Artificial Intelligence" and "AI" in official communications. The two letters are also the country code of Slovenia, and demand for .si names jumped: the registry reported 46,066 new .si registrations in September 2026 (CircleID), and on 20 October 2026 Register.si showed 438,425 .si domains registered in total.

This article explains what happened, why .si also makes sense for chip and hardware companies, and introduces fifteen .si names.

Figures last checked: October 2026.

1. One order, one extension

According to TechCrunch, the registry recorded about 11,000 new .si addresses on 30 September alone, the day after the order was signed. The registry's spokesperson was careful not to link the whole increase to the order, but the timing is clear: for many companies, "SI" is now a term they may read in US government documents.

2. .si already meant silicon

Si is the chemical symbol for silicon, the material most computer chips are made from. That gives the extension a second meaning that fits semiconductor, photonics and hardware companies, whatever happens to the new terminology. Three of the names below (Serdes.si, PhotonCompute.si and PhotonFabric.si) use that meaning.

3. A word of caution

Not every new .si name is an AI project. Hostinger told TechCrunch that only about 3% of the .si names its customers registered were explicitly AI-related, and some buyers register names to resell them. That is why the names below are real words and terms, or short brandables, rather than names built only on the trend.

The names

Fifteen names, all on .si, in three groups: three for silicon and photonics hardware, five words that describe how intelligent systems reason (Epistemic, Empirical, Metacog, Perceiver and Truthful), and seven short brands and European words.

Chip-to-chip data lanes glowing gold between two processors, representing SerDes high-speed links

Serdes.si

SerDes: short for serializer/deserializer, a circuit that moves data between chips over fast serial links.

Five letters on .si. The short form engineers commonly use. A compact brand for SerDes IP, chips or design services.
