.nl Returns to Growth in 2026: 12 Domain Names for Dutch Digital Brands

The Netherlands' national domain returned to growth in the first half of 2026. SIDN, the registry for .nl, counted 6,129,000 .nl domains by mid-June, up from 6,059,000 at the start of the year. That was a net increase of about 70,000 names after contraction in 2024 and 2025 (SIDN, June 2026).
The extension also has a strong connection with new Dutch businesses. SIDN's 2025 annual report says 68% of start-ups preferred .nl in an October 2025 study (SIDN Annual Report 2025). This article looks at what the 2026 figures mean and introduces twelve English-language .nl names for technology, finance, employment, care, mobility and industry.
Figures last checked: October 2026.
1. .nl returned to growth
The first-half increase matters because it reversed the direction seen over the previous two years. SIDN reported that new registrations were equivalent to 14.5% of the .nl zone, compared with 12% in the same period of 2025. The cancellation rate moved the other way, falling from 16.5% to 13.5%. SIDN linked the recovery mainly to an upturn in people starting businesses or planning to do so.
2. A national address for a digital business
A .nl address identifies a name with the Netherlands before the visitor reads the rest of the site. The extension can therefore suit a business serving Dutch customers, a local version of an international platform, or a project that wants a separate Dutch identity. Registration is handled through an accredited registrar; SIDN says an accepted application is normally added to the .nl zone within an hour of submission (SIDN registration guide).
The twelve names below use English terms that describe recognisable products, services or business functions. They are grouped by possible use, rather than presented as companies that already exist.
